What's included?

Whether you’re a new shop just starting out or an established operation looking to grow, ISFA’s Solid Surface Fabrication Training program is a terrific way to make sure your staff has the skills they need to fabricate all kinds of solid surfaces. The training is open to anyone interested, and it is discounted for ISFA members.

Basic fabrication instruction includes Product Orientation, Safety, Tooling, Fabrication & Installation. More advanced instruction includes Manufacturer’s Fabrication/Installation Requirements. This training program is approved by all major solid surface manufacturers.

Who's eligible?

This class is for individuals new to solid surface fabrication with base-level experience in carpentry, millwork or other related fields. It's also well-suited for those who wish to refresh their skills. 

Not a fabricator? No problem! Take advantage of the non-certified observer option to watch and learn. This is a great option for office staff or project managers who could benefit from context around the fabrication process. 

Program

Training includes 2-day hands-on instruction.

Sessions include product knowledge, handling, inspection, safety, tooling, shop layout, templating, material layout, cutting, seaming, edge treatments, sink and bowl mounting, cutouts, backsplashes, thermoforming, finishing, repair, installation, overhangs and more.

Whether it’s the window cling on your truck, certificate framed in your office or our logo proudly displayed on your website, customers will know you’re a professional ISFA Certified Fabricator!

ISFA Onsite Solid Surface Fabrication Training

Dates: Flexible Scheduling — 1 or 2-day options

Program Overview

We bring our gold standard ISFA Certified Professional Solid Surface Fabrication Training to you!

Your staff receives the same training offered in our classes, but it is conducted in your shop.

The program is recognized by all major solid surface manufacturers and their network of certified fabricator businesses. This program will provide your staff with the skills and knowledge in all facets of the process including material types, layout, templating, seaming, support, sanding, edges, cutouts, backsplashes, thermoforming, finishing, and installation.

  • Allows your staff to train in your shop using your own tools.
  • Instructor can assist with starting a new job.
  • The trainees/students can remain in the shop and not lose travel days.
  • Far more economical to pay trainer travel than your staff’s travel expenses.
  • Trainer can assess additional on-site needs and make recommendations.

Program Content

1-Day Onsite Class

  • Primarily for a staff with some experience with tools and familiarity with elements of fabrication
  • Instructor-led project with staff member hands-on participation
  • Instructor will focus on core needs of the group and fill skill gaps.
  • Best suited for a staff of under 5 trainees.

2-Day Onsite Class

  • Comprehensive training focusing on all elements of the fabrication process with a specific focus on individual training needs.
  • Project executed step by step with staff divided into teams.
  • Extra hands-on practice.
  • Maximum of 12 trainees.

ISFA Mineral Surfaces: Porcelain, Ultra Compact, Sintered Education & Fabrication Training

Dates: June 11–12 2025 Location: Pompano Beach, Florida

Program Overview

  • This program will arm fabricators with the knowledge and skills they need to embrace these growing materials to meet the demand and desires of the customer. 
  • Will alleviate any challenges by sharing detailed Best Practices for perfect fabrication results. 
  • Educate fabricators so they can fully educate their customers on these materials in every sales opportunity.
